Dr. Rekha Rajendra Kumar’s father wanted her to become a doctor. More than a wish from her father, an incident where she witnessed her mother getting saved by a female doctor set a passionate fire in young Rekha’s heart.
She embarked on her medical journey and went on to secure the 7th rank in her MBBS from Bangalore Medical College (1988), and her career soared from there. She completed her MD holding the first rank in the university examination (1991). She was also All India topper in the reproductive medicine course conducted by Indian College of Gynecology (ICOG). She completed her post-graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics from the reputed National Law School India University.
In the next decade, she got married, had kids, worked and racked up experience at various esteemed hospitals as a postgraduate teacher and an obstetrician. Meanwhile, she completed many courses in laparo hysteroscopy, ultrasound and IVF and improved her skills to scale to a higher standard.
She developed a strong interest in IVF after briefly working in a couple of fertility centres across Bengaluru.
In 2002, jointly with her husband Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Dr. Rekha started Chandana Hospital in which she is practising as a gynaecologist, obstetrician and fertility specialist.
She has been successfully running it as a Medical Director and Consultant, but her passion for helping couples conceive and become parents pushed her to newer horizons.
That was when Miracle IVF Hospital was born.
With that at heart, Dr. Rekha has assumed the role of Reproductive Medicine and Fertility Specialist and Gynaecologist at Miracle IVF Hospital.
